Reflections on Our June 13th Retreat to Valle de Guadalupe
Step Away to See Clearly
Over the past several months of speaking with entrepreneurs, executives, and creatives, a stark reality has emerged: we are not just professionally busy, but mentally exhausted by endless demands on our attention. As a result of this constant overload, many of us struggle to find the space required for meaningful conversations, fresh perspectives, and genuine reflection. This tension is the core catalyst behind Mutiny Retreats—not a rebellion against others, but a deliberate departure from the habits, pressures, and expectations that quietly consume our focus.
On June 13, 2026, we took a small group across the border into the heart of Baja Norte for a curated escape to Valle de Guadalupe. As outlined in our foundational ethos, the goal was simple: step away to see clearly. The best ideas don’t come from staying in the same rooms, following the same routines, or solving problems the same way. True clarity requires actively engaging with a new environment and deliberately breaking our patterns.
Our journey was anchored by a few intentional stops, from the sweeping ocean views and surf vibes at Hogar de Fuego Café, to the chic, rustic atmosphere of Anatolia, to the beautiful vineyards of Adobe Guadalupe. But Mutiny Retreats is never just about the wine, the meals, or the itinerary—those things are simply the vehicles. The real goal is creating an environment where curiosity, creativity, and connection can flourish.
The feedback from our attendees perfectly captured the spirit of the day. For Sean, the retreat was “an opportunity to get out, explore, and rejuvenate connections and inspire creativity”. Maggie noted that it “was wonderful to be out of my comfort zone and to see a new place in a safe way,” giving her a chance to relax while exploring creatively.

Through our travels, we’ve learned that great experiences don’t need to be complicated; thoughtful curation often matters more than elaborate planning. Whether we were sharing epic bread and mushrooms at Adobe Guadalupe, taking in the valley views over lunch, or relaxing at an informal diner to close out the day, the real magic happened in the shared conversations. As Dayan beautifully summarized, the retreat “curates adventures off the beaten path” and served as “a great way to become connected to new people quickly, and bond with old friends”. Elina echoed this, calling the journey “[a] great adventure to explore new places and meet with new friends. A step to a different reality to marinate ideas and connect with peers!”.
Baja Norte is more than a destination; it’s an inspiring backdrop that invites people to slow down and see the world differently. This recent trip reinforced our core belief: when we willfully break our routines and actively engage with one another, we create deep connections and open ourselves to new possibilities.
For leaders navigating growth, founders seeking inspiration, or anyone feeling the weight of routine and craving a reset, we invite you to join us. Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is temporarily depart from the familiar.
