Why Baja?

A rare balance of familiarity and surprise.

Baja California offers a rare balance of familiarity and surprise — close enough to reach easily, yet different enough to interrupt everyday assumptions.

Its landscape, culinary culture, independent makers, and unhurried pace create a natural setting for reflection and discovery, without giving up the comfort and quality a professional retreat requires.

Retreat FAQ

Are retreats suitable for individuals?2026-07-15T20:51:52+00:00

Very much so. Most public-retreat guests join solo. The experiences are designed to help thoughtful peers connect quickly and comfortably.

Can a retreat or lab be customized?2026-07-15T21:05:09+00:00

Private retreats and Labs are fully custom—destination, duration, venues, activities, and facilitation are built around your goals.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?2026-07-15T20:57:20+00:00

Sometimes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-conscious menus are available with advance notice. Share your needs when you register. We’ll reach out to you to discuss the venues we’re visiting and the options you’ll have to suit your dietary needs. Note, if the venues are set, we cannot change locations for published retreats.

How large are the groups?2026-07-15T20:49:34+00:00

Public retreats are intentionally small—typically 12 to 14 guests. Private team retreats are sized to your group, usually 6 to 20.

How physically demanding are the experiences?2026-07-15T21:12:59+00:00

Most are light to moderate with some walking on uneven ground—gravel is a common ground cover. Specific activity levels are listed on each experience page.

Is transportation included?2026-07-15T21:07:22+00:00

In-region ground transport is included in nearly every experience. You never drive across the border yourself. Flights to San Diego or Tijuana are not included.

What happens if an itinerary changes?2026-07-15T21:14:15+00:00

Weather, venues, and local conditions can shift. We build in flexibility and will always substitute an experience of equal or greater quality. Sample itineraries are illustrative.

What is the cancellation policy?2026-07-15T21:18:28+00:00

Public retreats are typically fully refundable up to 7 days before departure, thereafter it is not refundable. Private terms are set in your agreement. See our Terms & Conditions.

Where do I fly into if I’m coming from out of town?2026-07-15T21:23:27+00:00

The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is 30 minutes from the border; and the Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) is a 10 minute drive to the San Ysidro border crossing.  We recommend flying into either airport. Please coordinate with our staff.

Where do retreats depart from?2026-07-15T20:50:39+00:00

Most Baja experiences depart from a central meeting point in San Diego, with private ground transport across the border. Departure details are shared on booking.
